If you’re looking for the usual story from Alice, this isn’t it—but it’s still an amazing read. You will get the humor and banter she’s known for, but this book is a little darker than her others. There are twists and turns that will make you hold your breath and could give you anxiety. Some of the descriptions could give you nightmares if you’re prone to being triggered by detailed descriptions of creepy things. BUT it’s so well written that it’s worth it. I put this one off for years because of other reviews, worried I’d be negatively affected, but I wasn’t. I’m so glad I read this one because I loved Chevy and Seneca. Joel Leslie’s narration was great-sometimes even creepy at the right moments-and it added to the story. Highly recommend. I’m off to read book 2 now.
