Although it does all come together in the end it is not easy to make it through this book. The constant addresses and email references are quite distracting and annoying. Civil, the main character, is really not very likable until you hear her backstory. I persisted with this book because it is our book club selection, but would not have finished it otherwise. That said, it does deal with difficult topics and she does garner sympathy and understanding by the end.
