I really enjoyed Dead of Night by Lisa Gray. How the past and present intertwined kept me engaged and wanting more. I also liked that the reveals were spread throughout the book instead of all coming at once. I somehow knew, as soon as the epilogue started, what the final twist would be, but I still enjoyed it.
My one issue is that Serena sometimes acted illogically (there’s one scene in particular, though it wasn’t the only time), and it became clear what the person terrorizing her would do next. Granted, she did deduce what happened afterward, but this obvious point, along with a few others, is why I can’t rate it 5 stars.
Brenda Scott Wlazlo is a great narrator with the right amount of range for this book.
