Elevator pitch: At a dignified 73, can life-long letter writer, Sybil Van Antwerp, come to terms with her traumatic past before going blind?
The Correspondent, is both an excellent and compulsive listen. The narration is sublime. And Mrs. Evans’s writing is terrific!
Epistolary writing can become tedious in the hands of a lesser writer. But Evans moves the story along nicely, and at a tight pace.
One can appreciate the amount of thought and consideration that Evans put forth in creating The Correspondent. The story weaves its way through time with its characters leaving little puzzles here and there along the way.
The Correspondent is my favorite book of the year, and I recommend it. You won’t soon forget, Sybil Stone Van Antwerp.
