I thought the story was fun and different. It felt a bit rushed in some instances, particularly in the character relationships and the transition of the main character in the end. Since this is a prequel the progression makes some sense, but I would have liked more. Perhaps in the subsequent books more is revealed and there is a bit more world building. The narrators did a great job. Overall it was a decent listen and I’d consider continuing the series to see what direction the story takes with the academy, and if we’ll see some of these characters in the subsequent books.
