I actually read this series years ago and loved it. I am a big fan of the genre and I think this series is the best of them all. It has just the right mix of game mechanics and a story arc that works well for the series and in each individual novel. The character finds himself interacting with an evil deity in interesting ways though all the novels. I will add that I have recommended this series to several friends over the years and they were all pleased with it.
