This is a new series that I have wanted to read. Zoran is injured and needs a safe place to heal after escaping a prison on a military post of his enemies. He is the king of his home planet and has a symbiotic relationship with his ship. Go figure. Abby lives alone on a mountain creating art and enjoying the peace and quiet. She finds Zoran and immediately establishes a rapport with the ship of all things. She helps him and Zoran heal from the terrible encounter of the prison.
Zoran has brothers that he is able to communicate with and they come to collect him but not before Zoran and the sheriff of the town near Abby’s mountain bump heads over Abby. Abby is unaware of the nature of the sheriff until almost too late and then all of a sudden here comes the enemy and Zoran has to make a choice of what to do to save Abby. In the meantime her friends are caught in the crossfire and they are taken along for the ride because they will not allow Abby to go alone.
And the chase is on as well as a new life for Abby and her friends on a new world that they soon take over and change so many things. Boy there was a lot in this book and then there are several more books that follow along. The series is worth reading or listening to.
