This was the first book I’ve read by Colin J. Galtrey, and overall, I really enjoyed it. Things Will Never Be the Same Again pulls you in with an emotional story and an intriguing mystery surrounding Detective John Gammon. It did take me a minute to get into the story, but once I did, I was hooked. The ending was so sad, it definitely stayed with me after I finished.

I listened to the audiobook version, and I have to say, I love Mary Phillips as a narrator. She has a wonderful, expressive voice, though her accent was a bit thicker than normal, and it took a little time to adjust. Once I got used to it, I really appreciated how she brought the story to life.

All in all, it’s a solid start to the series, and even though it took a bit to warm up to, I might just give book two a try!
