He does most of his killing with a rifle and charges in to situations without setup, which is weird for a machinist who did covert wetwork. The daughter, Barb, has a terrible name and attitude. Who would choose to go by “Barb”? it’s like Blart, Glub, or Ploot.
The author does a lot of build up for the bad guys throughout the book, but then just double taps them just like any other red shirt in the book. No big moment or monologuing, not even a good one-liner… Like “That’s gonna leave a mark”. You don’t get any real satisfaction or closure from the moment.
I find this book to be… Meh. It passed the time while driving, but I won’t be waiting for the next installment.
