I fear Matt has set the standard for what I look for in Lit RPG the blend of ratcheting stakes while fulfilling plot lines while leaving just enough suspense to make you want to explode in anticipation while also curling your toes in dread for what’ll happen next is simply something I think other stories would struggle to even come close to. The stakes are high but the satisfying reward is even greater even with book 8 out I fear what’ll happen next
