Mad Mick (Connor )is an Irish man raised by rebels before moving to America. Over the years he trained in various arts of assassins, becoming a secret operative. When the US collapses, Connor and his daughter, Barbara, have dug in to survive in their well equipped compound.

Connor’s wife died when Barb was just an infant. She has been raised to survive with a lot of the roughness of her father. When Barb and another community young woman are kidnapped by a band of men, Connor will take on the Mad Mick persona to get her back and deliver his form of vengeance.

After the first book, the second brings the boss of the kidnappers and remaining forces thinking they can face Mad Mick. The third book brings together the community to face a new enemy. An ‘army’ of former gang members calling themselves The Bonded are busy terrorizing towns for supplies and the fun of causing havoc.

All three books have good action with interesting strategies set up by Connor to harass and attack the enemy. The personalities of the characters are strong and often caustic. I’m glad I had the three books together. I will look for more in the series.

As always, Kevin Pierce delivers a strong narration. He captures and conveys the nuances of the characters. His performance enhanced the story for me.
