This was my first experience with this author’s work. I appreciated the settings as the story took place in England and in Scotland. I enjoyed how the characters met as they had no idea of each other’s social standing and during historical times, one’s social standing was very important. I liked Lady Elizabeth as she was willing to break some of society’s rules. I was entertained by the ups and downs in Elizabeth’s romantic path. There were several steamy scenes. Mary Phillips’ narration was a pure joy to listen to as her voice was very expressive, and she brought the characters to life with her performance. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
