I’ve encountered this author a few years back and been hooked on her ever since!
I have a few of her stories, not only the hidden species complete series, and I listen to them all the time.
it took me at least until the 7th listen of this series to realise it has a few logical mistakes – won’t tell you what they are, because they really aren’t all that bad.
I will tell you however of the original, creative and funny take on quite a few trite fantasy creatures and tropes.
I will also tell you, as all the others have, of the fast and witty dialog and, most importantly, the enlightened take on interpersonal relationships of all kinds. it seems like she has no judgmental stand on any issue, as long as it’s based on respect for all other living souls.
and I will close with my deep appreciation for her ability to connect the different stories in the series: it’s intuitive, highly natural to the narrative and seamless.
as for joel leslie’s narration? there is none more professional, none more funny and none more fitting for louisa master’s genius then him. I’ve been known to buy audiobooks only because he is the narrator, and keep listening to them, more than once, even if I don’t like the author 🙂
