cautionary tale, we can follow the logic and be afraid of the scary possible outcomes. but stopping it today feels 100% unlikely.
our oligarchy is driven by the wealthiest people. popular opinions don’t drive policy or outcomes in the US. weve not been able to get people to agree on one single thing in history and there is too much money on the line. money talks.
I like the idea of spreading the fear of what can go wrong. I like the idea of forcing guardrails. I like AI alignment the center of the conversation and stopping when unalighned.
AI itself will not stop even after it starts to displace humanity in our own world.
