I liked the dynamic between father and daughter and the fast paced action scenes. The lyrical descriptions of West Virginia and seeing things through different peoples eyes. Really draws you in.
However some readers may find the well worn tropes of the “evil Arab” and the “heroic Israelis” to have aged badly considering recent events. This is laid on a little thick sometimes. And for me it was to the point of ruining the story for me. I wish the author would have stuck to Connor and his family making a difference in his community rather than suddenly branching out into political commentary.
