I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook, narrated by Liam DiCosimo and Stefanie Kay. Both of them did a terrific job conveying all the drama and intensity of the events and feelings that main characters Maverick and Everleigh experience as the story unfolds. Everleigh Bradley (whose athlete brothers appear in earlier installments of the series) is a brand strategist whose assignment is to straighten up the image of recently acquired player Maverick Jennings. Neither of them are wild about the idea: Everleigh has so far avoided working with athletes, and Maverick is just not image conscious (he just wants to play football). The conflict fireworks start early and don’t let up, until they do, and then there are lots of the close encounter kind of fireworks. Ms. Suzanne does an amazing job with the spicy scenes – almost like being a fly on the wall and a mind reader, and in all the best ways. In addition there is a suspense plot mixed right into the romance situation that really keeps the final chapters at a boil. Mr. DiCosimo and Ms. Kay used their voices expertly to make sure I kept guessing as to how things would eventually work out. I am definitely looking forward to future installments in this marvellous series.
