Hayes is pretty much top of the game for animated narration. He’s completely wasted on an MC that is so completely irredeemably stupid and unlikeable. No matter how long the book goes on the MC learns no lessons and makes the exact same mistakes. On top of that his base personality is a failed musician that failed for good reason but was in denial, which is exhausting.
I literally could not have stomached getting more than halfway through without the quality of narration. I think it’s the worst Soundbooth Theatre book I’ve picked up.
