After surviving the solar storm that completely ruined the power grid, the survivors have formed cohesive groups to reestablish a semblance of community. What they did not expect was to not only fight off the prison gangs but also a corrupt government that has teamed up with them. The absolute resilience of these surviving pockets of humanity was so inspiring.
Bob McDermott is a master storyteller and I’m a bit sad that I’ve finished the book. The characters were so compelling and I’m sad that they have exited my life.
