I almost stopped reading early on in the book, but stopped to read the book’s synopsis and decided to continue. I am not sorry I did. It was amazing to siowly get to know and understand this woman through the myriad letters she wrote and received to and from family, friends, authors, customer service persons, etc. The author’s expertise at accomplishing this through nothing but correspondence is worthy of high praise.
