I started listening to this story with absolutely no expectations about it or any information about the book at all and I liked it. The character development for the main characters is good and getting more in-depth as the book progresses and I imagine the series. The interplay between the characters is well thought out and well written to emulate real world interaction between characters. It’s nice to see a storyline where we’re hearing the thoughts of a character and I can honestly say people have told me they’ve had those thoughts.
Learning about vampires in this particular world the author has created has been interesting and learning that humans have started to learn about magical beings is interesting. I’m curious to see how the series will play out and what will happen between the two main characters because it’s supposed to be impossible for them to end up together. We all know impossible by its own definition is not possible, so I wondered what the author will do in the rest of the series.
The story was well thought out and enjoyable. I hope the rest of the series is as good as the first book. It’s nice to see the main character is a redhead and it’s something new because I haven’t seen many about many redheads in fantasy stories.
