I listened to it and it was well done. I would have loved to read the letters with her handwriting. Such a great character.
Spoiler alert:
I did not understand her last letter to her husband. If she had done what? Talk him she was not watching him because she was working. That if he knew the truth, they could have stayed together.
To allow for forgiveness?
I do not think that I could find a way to forgive myself if I knew he was only safe to dive from that pier. I would have at least made sure he was jumping from the right spot. But what do I know…
It is a mind twisting, life altering tragic accident and to judge anyone for how they reacted would be wrong. She just did the best she could at that moment.
I loved each letters and it made me remember what fun it was to get a letter. From the envelope you knew who it was. Great story and I loved how she made books and their authors a feature of her letters.
Letter writing felt so intimate. Great book!
