Matt is amazing at writing good characters, strong women, and the experience of normal people forced to experience the horrors of war.
This book does everything, but in a way that’s a wider audience would enjoy. There’s less “on-screen” death and violence, and what is described is on par with other action stories. But he keeps a lot of the emotion, makes it feel real what the family and friends are going through all through the end.
