This series has a really cool setup, and the pacing of mystery-reveals from book 1 to book 2 has been excellent, expanding the world in each book. The aliens feel original, especially as we start to get hints at their motivations. The characters are engaging and the interpersonal conflict really drives the story. Also, while brief, I love the voice of the dog 🙂
