(TLDR) don’t read unless you only like the LitRPG mechanics, they’re the only good part.

Hey man 50+ year old, hard, seasoned hitters for the mob don’t say “doggo.” It feels like the author didn’t look up any mafia or mob or Yakuza media at all, and just used that as an angle to get to the story they wanted to write.
Which sucks, because I think the magic, cards, and rules are really cool and well thought out. The sound booth production is top notch as always! This SHOULD have been a winner… Delivery of card decks from the gods, but as urban fantasy to a crime family hitter with a strict moral code should be SICK, but it isn’t because the story is told the way it is. The author is telling me the world is dark and gritty, so why isn’t anyone acting dark or gritty? The MC is supposed to be a stone cold killer, except he isn’t and also nobody important treats him like one. Each character feels like a single note played over and over.
I admit I only made it halfway through, but I promise I know who the bad guy is and what the last two chapters will be.
