This book heralds such a vast divergence from the initial books that it feels like a different author wrote this. Jason started out with core values and taking in advice from his crew, with after action reviews, and with the learnings from being an experienced military man, but this book sees him jumping into situations headstrong with no care for his ship or crew and not listening to anyone – then his old girlfriend comes on board and he loses everything, not to mention how he is manipulated by her to keep herself on board and then complains and blames him for placing her in danger. It’s all so stupid and sounds more like a highschool drama than an ex-soldier focusing on a mission with tactical awareness and strategy, were working with one’s crew is essential and listening to critique is the core to improving mission flow. Such a bad book it took me weeks longer to finish this crap.
