I don’t really expect smart, lush writing from a romance novel series but I’m listening to this for the second time and it’s lovely. The author’s ability to capture places and times is spot on. Chicago, the Pacific Northwest, the 1980s, all places I’ve lived and in a few words I feel like I’m there. Lots of mythical references and world building that show don’t tell. Like this authors other work it’s beautiful and sad and ultimately uplifting. Narration is great.
