I absolutely loved this audiobook. The writing is elegant, the story is thoughtful, and the narration was exceptional. Most of the book feels intelligent, reflective, and deeply human.

There were, however, a few brief asides that relied on familiar cultural shorthand rather than the nuance the rest of the book demonstrates. Those moments felt unnecessary and slightly reductive, and they briefly diminished what is otherwise a very sharp, well-crafted work.

That said, the strength of the writing and performance far outweighs those distractions, and I would still highly recommend this listen.
