I had so many friends recommend this book to me and I didn’t believe them for the longest time. I looked at the cover and thought “this looks goofy as hell.” Finally gave it a listen and yeah, it’s goofy as hell, but in the best way. I’m obsessed. I’ve listened to books 1-4 in two weeks. The story is funny but the author also weaves in a lot of good plot hooks that show you there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes. Carl is a great Everyman- everyone I know who has read the books has something they really like about him or relate to him on. Experiencing this strange new world through his perspective is a joy, The narrator also does a great job at bringing the characters to life – it adds a great layer of depth to the already great story.
