I’ve read shelves of books, but there are some books you need to listen to. THIS is one of them. I’ve never heard of this author before. I saw it advertised here more than once. I was toying with picking it up. Then, I hung out with my buddies one weekend and all of them were talking about it. I bought it after I came home. My wife and I usually listen to books during the night to fall asleep by. I had to find a different book because it was far too good, far too hilarious, far too perfect.
The guy narrating is perfect. He can do EVERY accent and makes sure just about every character sounds different. The writer is creative, comical, and dialed into the realm of DnD, RPGs, and fantasy. I can see this as a series EASILY. I’m going to go so far and say, to me, this book is perfect, or at least ridiculously close. Mix DnD with Seth Rogan and Will Farrell, you have Dungeon Crawler Carl.
