I have listened to a few of these kinds of books but nothing has stood out to me like dungeon crawler Carl. The best part is that I have no idea what to expect with every new installment. Everything is fresh full of new ideas and impossible scenarios. I was worried at some point I would get annoyed of donut but each character has their time to shine, their own failures, and you feel every single thing with them. I have listened to this series up to this point twice now to prepare for the new book and I will say it can be hard at times to follow certain things with all the new information but the book does a good job keeping you going along with the madness of what’s going on. Excellent performance by the narrator. And sound booth studios has put together an excellent performance in the more dramatized version. It makes it feel more alive that’s for sure.
