I love Mafia books and this book did not disappoint! The story is very fast paced, exciting, thrilling, suspense, some humor (due to my warped sense of humor). No waste of time on inner turmoil and filler….Not In This Book.

In Chicago…there is an arranged marriage of the Melody Giovanni of the Italian mafia family and Liam Callahan of the Irish mafia family. The marriage is an effort to become the strongest crime family not only in the U.S., but Italy and Ireland. They fight with the Russian Mafia as well as smaller Irish and Italian mafia cells over control of territory and power.

Liam and Melody will physically fight (including Melody shooting Liam) then they have hot hot sex, this was humorous to me. Melody is pregnant for the second time, she was stabbed in the stomach in the first book and lost the baby. There is also turmoil, defiance, and betrayal within the Callahan mafia/crime family. We find out in this book who the moles and betrayers are and what they are up to. Listen to find out the yummy details.

There is violence…killing, torture then killing, like cutting of fingers, nail guns to the head, dismemberment, etc….but it is Mafia.

I couldn’t stop listening and am now waiting for the 3rd book American Savages, it’s available but not on Audible. When I found Ruthless People the first book, this book The Untouchables was also available so now I have to try and find other books to keep me occupied until American Savages arrives. There is also a novella: Declan + Coraline.

J. J. McAvoy is a new author for me and what a way to win me over! Jeff Hayes also gave an outstanding performance especially his Irish accent and in this book there was what I call true style conversation between male and female….I loved it.

This is a series I will listen to over and over so YES it is well worth the credit or $.
