Book 4 of the series. It stands alone perfectly, you have some exposure to Rhett in the previous books, but nothing major.

Rhett and Evie did the Roommate’s to Lovers sitautionship really well. Add in the absolutely adorable puppy they co-parent (that’s the reason she’s living with him instead of her brother), her brother is his teammate/BFF AND she tried to kiss him years ago but he rejected her. I swear this is a catnip trope combo for me. The sneaking around, the tension with the brother when he finds out, the overprotective family drama, the puppy (did I mention the puppy???) there were so many fun moments in this story.

The audiobook was narrated by Lena Lee and Alexander Neal. Both of these were new voices for me and I would totally listen to them again. Lena gave us bright and hopeful as a base layer but then added on layers with her sibling frustration and roommate tension. Alexander had southern drawl on lock for our Darling Rhett, but mixing in the other guys and even Yammi’s dad, I was impressed with the range.

I requested and was provided with an advanced copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.
