This book was a complete journey. My heart hurt many times, I laughed hard and I swooned hard.
Jaymes just lost her mom and she decided that she needs to travel and spread her wings. Leaving FL to travel to Montana as a traveling nurse, she’s ready to jump in. Meeting her new roommates was exciting and she ends up having a huge interest in Fitz. The roommate who is grumpy and has no emotions. Very standoffish which definitely interests Jaymes since she’s a nurse in mental health.
Fitz is a firefighter smokejumper. His walls are all up and he has no interest in relationships. The banter between him and Jaymes was so comical! They end up getting really close and when Jaymes is ready to leave for her next assignment in California, Fitz doesn’t share how he feels. Jaymes figures she’s needs to move on.
Meeting a new client in California, Jaymes finds a lot of peace and comfort. That is until she finds out she has a history with him. Fitz comes in and out of Jaymes’s life and shows that he can be there but not in the normal boyfriend way.
