Raheem was giving Rhythm the blues. The gaslighting was next level. I love Rhythm because she didn’t ignore her intuition. She asked for what she deserved. Now, it took her heart a lot longer to catch up with her head. The best best friend ever Nique kept it real for her. A chance meeting, followed by a one-night stand with Mr. BDE Channing Watson was just what Rhythm needed until they find out they both have a relationship with Prince Cole/Raheem. Yeah, it gets even more interesting after that reveal. What Raheem took for granted Channing appreciated and respected. I love the side characters Nique, Rhythm’s parents, Momma Watson and grandma James. The words that came out of their mouths had me laughing.
Do yourself a favor and read this book instead of listening to it. I’m not a fan of the female narrator’s style but the audiobook was on sale, so I got it. Her style was not a fit for this FMC. The male narrator has a nice sounding voice but at times there wasn’t any emotional depth to his narration style.
