I tried. Sincerely, I did. I love the genre. But half-way through the third book I just couldn’t take it anymore. The pace is agonizingly slow. The lead male, Wyatt, was purported to be a Navy Seal. If he was, then he was on the short bus team. He has zero habits or situational awareness. Just not believable. And the lead female, Megan … where to start? She is the most frustration character I have ever encountered. Far from being a “strong, independent woman,” she is simply arrogant and difficult. Being uncooperative and selfish are her primary characteristics. I finally gave up when the softball game kicked off in the midst of their being hunted by a bloodthirsty gang. I had to move on.
