The ill treatment of the dogs as they are transported and trained. No matter how many times I read The Call of the Wild that’s what stays with me. Then the eventual contact with John Thornton. London transforms the dogs into beings with human traits.

Buck. There are many audio versions of this work. The narrator, Bill Lord does an outstanding job.
