This is an excellent book…the best I’ve read in a long time. The author used a clever literary device of the main character Sybil’s correspondence to gradually reveal the layers of her personality, psyche, self-protective defenses, loves, and more as she slowly loses her sight, as her heart grows to be more reflective and honest, transparent, and, ultimately stronger. I was annoyed with Sybil in the beginning, but gained understanding as I followed her correspondence and expanding life, and finally, came to understand her residence and her regrets. I was very moved by the ending and recommend this very thoughtful and well-written book.
