I’ve read Tijan before, I know she has a different style than most. But I couldn’t get through the first two chapters. The main female character is going through a mental crisis, I get it. But in the first two chapters she spends a stupid amount of time talking about how she hopes various people on the subway will start singing lion king, and concerningly obsessing over her cousin who she has never met. It’s just a lot of exposition, weird fake scenarios, and entirely uninteresting obsessions. They guys first chapter is just tons of exposition. Couldn’t get through it. I think maybe if I were reading it, I would be able to hopefully skin through some of the first chapters and get to the actual story development, but I would not recommend this one for audio book.
