The story itself is a solid read/listen. Narrators did an awesome job as well. The only reason I dinged is the unfortunately all to common theme among westerns/ranch life romance novels. Spoilers below.

Please. Please. Please. Authors. Find someone in the horse/ranch industry to review your content. It is honestly terrifying and disappointing how innacurate and dangerous the horse scenes were. And yeah, I get it. It’s a romance book. But It doesn’t take much effort to find someone knowledgeable in the industry. Even the little stuff like knowing the difference between a Halter and bridle, and knowing when each is appropriate to be used. (ie not on a practically feral stallion who is so flighty it is a huge risk to anyone in the same pen as it) or knowing you shouldn’t put said animal in a stall, much less enter a stall with them in any capacity.

Non Equestrians, before you get it in your head, please consult a professional before handling any horse, much less a practically feral stallion.

Spoilers:
Equestrians, I had to skip through every scene where they “rehabilitated” this unmanageable rescue stallion (only handled in a bridle) with their 2 years (or less) of experience because the horse had so much “potential” where after a few weeks of not getting anywhere (wonder why) they let an even more novice to just.. Wing it and make the stallion ready for a therapy client. Cringe. If you can ignore that, the story line is nice, the characters and their feelings are realistic,

Tl/dr:
Horse scenes were brutally inaccurate /dangerous. Narrators and main story line were great.
