This seems like the introduction of the cat and mouse game between Calista and Hayden. Hayden stole the show for me, but Calista was lacking. Understandably, she has her history (so does he), but she seemed scared, anxious even about life. Even when she was talking to her friend, she seemed nervous about laughing. I was concered, but it seemed like toward the end of the book she starts to get bolder. Shes like 21 and Hayden is around 31, so it seems like its the age difference (among other things) that dictate their actions.

After finishing this book, I don’t immediately feel like listening to book 2. I don’t think that I am let down by how everything played out, however, I was not all that excited about learning more.
