Sybil Van Antwerp is a retired lawyer and judge’s clerk, a mother, a sister and a friend. She practiced law at a time when women lawyers were scarce. We know her through her letters (she is proud of her penmanship) and emails: her opinions, loves, standards, aggravations, regrets and sorrows. The reader is with her all the way.

She graduated from the University of Virginia’s law school in the class of 1967, which, in fact, had 3 women in a class of over 200. As I was one of the three, I’m happy to accept her as an honorary member.
