seriously, I’ve enjoyed this series so far, IN SPITE of the issues around the audio levels, but this book is the worst offender yet, and the point where I have to NOPE TF OUT altogether. Most of the characters are narrated at a reasonable volume, but pretty much EVERY TIME THE MIMIC SPEAKS, HE’S YELLING INTO THE MICROPHONE. Sound fun? Because IT. IS. NOT. So you turn the volume down to the point where you’re struggling to listen to most of the dialogue, only to have the mimic SCREAM directly into your fkn eardrums. Who TF thought this was a good idea? seriously. Can the audio engineers not tweak the audio levels to keep them roughly even? Can the voice actor not back away from the mic, so when he YELLS, the volume is slightly lower? Can Amazon not put an audio option in the app to level out the audio volume levels?

What the actual. Unless you like ear damage, tinnitus, and constant, super annoying jump scares from volume spikes, avoid this series unless someone goes back and fixes them.
