Generally I liked the book. I enjoyed the characters and the plot was entertaining. I liked that the book had spicy moments, but they worked within the narrative. They also seem to be pretty careful about consent which is great.
A few things that weren’t my favorite – The main human character, Carter, spends a lot of time throughout the series complaining about being treated like a princess or being seen as girly. I get that he’s supposed to be a tough guy, but especially for an “advanced” society it seems like he really harps on about it… he does say his family is old school or conservative or whatever… It just gets a bit redundant. I did also feel like there was a fair amount of redundancy in the series generally, but it didn’t ruin it. The narrator does a good job, and overall it’s very entertaining, especially since it’s included with membership, so I didn’t have to paid for any of the 3 books in the series.
