In retrospect, these books are solid post apocalyptic fun, but theres some hang ups. first off is the repetitive events, Ben and the gang often get into the same/incredibly similar situations. next and most egregious in my opinion is the repetitive language in the book, for example in every book theres the constant rehashing of Ben dealing with a problem and bringing up the innocence of the children, every book, multiple times per book he brings up attempting to shield the kids from the harsh realities of the world, its repetitive and honestly frustrating. I dont need to hear how Ben drags a corpse 2 feet away so the kids won’t see, when they’ve all at this point seen the horrors of a post apocalypse. another example is bringing up wet dog, again multiple times per book and almost constantly. If you want a pulpy and fun romp through a post apocalypse theres way worse books out there
