I usually favor fiction over non, but this book is a fantastic exception — deeply reported, elegantly written, and with a propulsive plot that just won’t quit. A great overview of the Western introduction to the Pacific, but done with plenty of modern sensitivity of the often ugly legacy of Euro conquest. Excellent narrator. Highly recommended.
