I had forgotten about writing. The curved letters that scrolled out gently and linked together from a clutched pen. How lucky we were, looking back now, that we had to learn penmanship. The time to form your inner thoughts into something meaningful that had shape and color. Written cursive seemed more personal and durable. That’s how I will remember this book. PERSONAL….as if the author wrote to just me! I so enjoyed listening to this audible version. The voices were so well matched to the text that one felt you could SEE the characters in front of you! I shall have to write again instead of scribbling texts or emails that don’t feel quite meaningful. It might take some practice as it has been awhile. It might feel like being in slow motion, but I am inspired to try. The pen allows you to slow down and think, to allow artistry in your communication, more meaning to your thoughts and to place emphasis where you want it. “The Correspondent” was thoroughly enjoyable.
