This is a book of redemption and it has plenty of mental health representation. It explores the idea that people react the way they do because of trauma is masterfully explored in this story.
Everliegh and Maverick have their own issues. She is hired to rehabilitate his image, she is motivated because it will give her the chance to launch her own PR firm. He doesn’t want her help, too bad because it comes as a clause in his contract. What happens next is exploring the many layers that make a human, and how peeling one by one will take you to a different and better place.
I read this with my ears l, and I thought Liam Dicosimo and Stefanie Kay where the correct cast to bring them to life.
If you like emotional stories with a redeeming arc, this is your book.
