Readers who love my favorite books always recommend this series as being fun and funny and smart and exceptionally performed. All those things are 100% true. But… how did they miss the GORE and depressing story line. Even if it’s cartoonish gore, it’s still horrible to “experience” through reading. None of my favorite books are gory, so it’s weird that this series always comes up. If you’re like most people, and not bothered by nausea-inducing guts and disturbing sadness, then go for it.
I wish I could return it. Or even give it away, like I could with a paper book.
