I listened to this book based on a friend’s enthusiastic and glowing recommendation. I was hesitant after reading the summary as this seemed like it could easily fall into the cheesy or predictable category.
This book exceeded my expectations. It was entertaining throughout and the format allows for endless creativity and world building. The performance was fantastic.
One of my favorite parts of this book is that the main character consistently makes logical and video game like choices. Often books create exposition or conflict either through a characters ignorance or their bad choices.
In this book, the main character refreshingly draws conclusions and makes choices you’d want from a person in their situation.
I am eagerly getting ready start book 2 and am looking forward to the journey.
