The Sword of Kaigen has a ton of action with elemental fighting. The powers heavily reminded me of Avatar: The Last Airbender, I am unsure if this was the product of Avatar being so well known or whether there is some other background other than this that ML Wang used. The action sequences are a standout feature, as mentioned before and it’s strongest part. On the downside, at times the plot feels slightly prolonged, as though the story is being stretched to set up potential sequels. While this does not massively detract significantly from the enjoyment, people like myself might be disappointed knowing that it’s never going to have sequels even though it spends a lot of time setting it up. Which needs to be considered when given it’s rating. For me it drops it down from 5 star to 4 star as it’s just got the extra fat on it.
